Pierre MARCHAND honoured with Changma Bandhu title
BODHICARIYA EDUCATIONAL COMPLEX, Nov 15^th, 2009: Mr. Pierre Marchand, the founder Director of PARTAGE avec les enfants du monde, was honoured with the title of CHANGMA BANDHU, at the Reunion of SKS And Bodhicariya School Alumni, held at the Bodhicariya Educational Complex, Kolkata. Mr. Marchand was attending the Reunion of SKS and Bodhicariya School Alumni as the Chief Guest. The citation given to him on the occassion read "Awarded CHANGMA BANDHU (A friend of the Chakmas) to Pierre Marchand in recognition of his untiring and dedicated efforts for the development of the Chakma Society, on Sunday the 15^th day of November, 2009 at Bodhicariya Educational Complex, Kolkata, India." Mr. Pierre Marchand is widely-known as an extremely dedicated person working tirelessly for the development of the children in the less priviledged communities in the world. He was one of the persons behind the foundation of Shishu Koruna Sangha and Bodhicariya School Project. Ven. Bimal Bhikkhu speaking of Mr. Pierre Marchand said that the idea of Shishu Koruna Sangha was conceptualised by Mr. Marchand and Shishu Koruna Sangha stands today as a testament to his dedication and efforts. Based in France, he and his organisation still carry out work for the development of the children around the world. Displaced from their ancestral homes in present day Bangladesh and spreaded across north-eastern India, the Chakma community found a friend in Mr. Pierre Marchand, who - as the Bodhicarians commented - appeared as an angel for the Chakma community, working tirelessly for securing the community's future. He is admired by everybody for his untiring efforts in campaigning for the cause of the Chakma community. The Bodhicariya community paid an extremely well deserved tribute to this great man.
